My friend Aaron, one of my favorite artists, sent along a little something to brighten my mailbox today. He picked a scene from the story I sent him while he was recuperating from surgery, and drew it up. Needless to say, I looooove it!

The comments depress me somewhat though. Have these people never heard of the "moving goalpost" logical fallacy? The idea that, whatever is proven to be true (i.e. animal intelligence), you can just make a more difficult standard to disprove the theory.

Animals show surprising intelligence every time we try to test them for it. Just because they don't talk doesn't mean they don't think! This is yet another example of smart critters.

This is Paige, a hardworking member of the Kansas City Renaissance Faire. I actually got to speak with her handler for some time while waiting in line and learned a little bit about her.
She's very clever: while she was waiting for people to load and unload, she stole a tourist's camera and took a picture. As you can see, I am very excited to spend some time with her.
